Dead Mobo and the force

While I was at my moms today I decided I would check out her computer for her. But the monitor would not come out of sleep mode. Swapped monitors, video cards, and finally decided after the system would not beep with out a video card in it that the board must be messed. Tried resetting the bios and a few other things, but I think the little P3 450 is just done for. :( I think I will swap it out for the VIA V10000 I have sitting here as all the memory and drives will transfer over nice and being that she still uses Windows 98SE should not need a reinstall.

I also went to Star Wars III today as I figured the crowds had long left for this one. I have never been one for the movies, more a stay home and rent it kinda person. I have to say that I was impressed with the movie and made me like the first two a little more. The only thing I really didnt like was the amount of extra gagets that R2D2 had. I guess we are just to belive that some of his features and movablility is lost in the later times?

You think windows 98se can take a motherboard change with a new cpu type, without reinstalling? You are far to hopeful :)

I know it can that is how she got her current system. :)

It ended up going alright after I tracked down the driver disc for it. Needed the Nic drivers so I could get up to date drivers for everything else.
