Amano Shrimp
The algae that is slowly growning across the floor of my fish tank was starting to get to me. I have still put off getting some chems that a friend told me would help. I will have to get some, but to see if I can control it some with live things first I picked up a few Amano Shrmip. They look like Ghost shrimps but from my reading are harder to bread so cost a little more. The tank they where in at the store had a big “ALGAE?” written on the glass. They seem to be cleaning a ton of the tank, but not any areas where this green stuff is. I guess tomorrow morning I will have to check and see if the tank has been improved or not.

Oh cool, I noticed those at the store last time I was there. They are really expensive though aren’t they? From everything I’ve read they are suppost to be very good alage eaters though. As long as you don’t have blue green algae anyways :)

They where a little more, but they are well worth it even if they wont eat the bluegreen alage. They have cleaned every steam leaf and rock in the tank of anything except that bluegreen algae.
