Bullet in a Bible

While I was looking around to see what some bands have been up to I noticed this new DVD/CD from Greenday called “Bullet in a Bible”. I didnt know about it till just now, and after some looking it seems to be a live cd of American Idiot. I found a pretty straight up review of the whole thing over at Pitchfork that you can read here.

A bird you can not change

I have been thinking about making some changes to the site a little. I am sure it will pass and I will not actually act on any of them.. Lynyrd Skinner has some great stuff to listen too.

Lynyrd Skynyrd
Free Bird

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on, now,
There’s too many places I haven’t seen
And if I stayed here with you, now
Things just wouldn’t be the same
Well I’m as free as a bird now,
And a bird you can not change.
And a bird you can not change.
And a bird you can not change.
Lord knows I can’t change

Bye, bye, its been a sweet love.
And though this feeling I can’t change.
Please don’t take it badly,
The Lord knows I’m to blame.
And, if I stayed here with you now
Things just wouldn’t be the same.
For I’m as free as a bird now,
And this bird you’ll never change.
And the bird you can not change.
And the bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can’t change.
Lord help me, I can’t change.

I am sure that The Devils Rejects last scene is what has started this Lynyrd Skinner kick.

End of a Birthday Party

The 1st Birthday party for my niece’s seemed to go alright and I managed to only knock one kid of the riding toys. This made the small one year old cry for a little, but the magic of the window and looking out made them forget pretty quick. I just kinda sat and didnt do anything till most the people had left.. Some of the kids where just a little to hyper for this worn out soul. They where all pretty well behaved, but I still find it funny when kids do something they should not in public. You can tell the parents want to just yell “NO!” but try to stay more calm than is prob the norm at home. I have also noticed that child safe stuff is getting a little out of hand. High chairs now have belts, clips, straps, and anything else they can put on them. I was waiting for all the high chairs to blast off into space after the 5 min prep time to get them all fixed into the things.

A Sunday of Nothing

Today has been a clean up from the weekend.. It really should not be all that bad since it was a party of one. But some how it ended up looking like there was about 12 people in here for two days.

I am going to my sisters for my niece’s 1st birthday party this afternoon. Not being a person that is all gugu-gah-gah over kids it should be interesting as there will be a little pack of them for the party.

I have been really taking my time setting up and moving to the new server setup. I think it has been almost a month now, but really there is no rush so it dosnt matter. What should have taken a day or two has turned into something that spans a month.. Well that is just par for my life..

Cleaning up some before I head out has been put off as long as it can be.

Freevo Automount as non-root

After trying everything I could think of to get freevo to automount dvd’s and play them as any user other than root. I figured it was a permissions issue being root worked fine. Actually in the end it turned out to be way simpler than I thought “touch /var/cache/freevo/freevo-rebuild-database”. I dont really know what that empty file does but it worked.
