Chris from work ended up giving me some usb gamepads for my freevo system. Although not as well built as the Gravis I was using before it means I now had two that match and actually the cheaper control makes for better classic gamming control. It feels more like a original game pad in its response. Since he would not take money nor food in exchange for the gamepads I might have to get him to come over for a gamming session and a beer or something.. Took about a half hour to config all the emus to use both controllers and map the buttons how they felt right for each system.

Just a quick note on this pad.. The 2 bigger buttons in the center (Turbo and Clear) dont work in linux for me at all. the three smaller buttons in the center (8, 9, 10) are odd. The two outside ones read as the same button and the center one is its own. This still works fine because I just need select and start for most consoles. Just odd to have two select buttons and one start. :)

The plants in my 30gal tank where not doing so well over the past little while, so I picked up a Hagen CO2 Natural Plant System to see if that will bring some life back into them. I know someone else who has one and has said they are great. I was going to make my own system but by the time I picked up what I needed and put the time in to it I figured it would be a crappy system I would end up replacing down the road anyway. I am waiting for the first bubble to appear in the system and can see it is about half way down. The setup is pretty simple and if you can make koolaid you can make the mix needed for it. They say you will notice a change in 15 days after installing the system, so I have a little time to wait before I will know if it helping.

Got back from going to visit a friend in Peterborough today. Had a pretty good time doing some drinking, and general geeking out. Still undecided if there was more drinking or geeking but I am leaning toward the geeking. :)

Had my next door neighbor check in and feed Linus for me. Everything was better than when I left and Linus was in good spirts and happy to see me when I returned home today. So had a good weekend of drinking, gaming, hanging out, computers, geeking, and I can now see myself in my kitchen sink. :)

I was just outside and noticed in all this wind that we are having the cable line to the aptment is hanging down low enough over the street that if a truck goes by it will be taking it with it. It is also still blowing pretty hardcore and keeps going a little lower each time.
