Music Submission on Last.fm

Today I noticed that my last.fm weekly chart didn’t show what I thought I had been listen to the most. After looking into this some I found that mpdscribble had been queueing everything (230 some songs). Played around with restarting the service, mpd serivce, checked for a newer version and installed lastfmsubmitd. Nothing seemed to fix this issue. I came to the decision that the songs stopped submitting about the same time I had installed the new gateway server. After checking it for any reason why this would not pass on the submission I restarted the networking on the mpd box (DHCP Reservation). Instantly it started to submit my songs for me again (to bad I had cleared the cache in the hope it would work). It always works out to be the last thing that is the quickest solution. :) I also found in interesting that everything else was working fine and had no issues with the new server just being dropped in.

Did some big hardware changes over the weekend and redid some of the internal network setup here. I think you should all notice a difference in the speed of the site.

WordPress Image Uploader

After playing with the new image uploaded in WordPress I have come to the conclusion that it sucks. Not only does it suck, but it dosnt do anything I want it to. The old way was select my picture, say if I wanted a thumbnail, take the link it gave me and past it in my post. It was a very simple system with no little bells.. But it worked great! The new system is a AJAX editor with browsing and resizing and seems to only make a thumbnail one size. Mind you I can resize that image to a larger size with the same size image. This as you can expect makes for a very blured image and it looks like ass. It also does not work well on a smaller screen and you are trying to guess how big it is. I will give the authors a clap for making a very slick interface, but it does not perform the simple task that I want it to do as well as the old browse button with 3 option boxes. I think the people at wordpress might have forgotten the line “WordPress believes in keeping it simple, and a lot of thought goes into including new functionality as a part of the “core” WordPress code”. I really dont like the “advance editor” so I turned it off, but because they decided everyone should just use it features that where once done by smaller simpler tasks are now missing.

I think I need to find a plug in that works how the old built in image upload worked. Or just see if I can make my own from the orig one.
