I found this post that is a little out of date now but it is new to me. Protest against ATI, seems like a valid point and it would be nice to have some source drivers built in the kernel with full support for everything. I can understand why they dont want to release this to the public though. I also think that Nvidia makes some great drivers that are quick and easy to install. I have only really used ATI on my laptop and those didn’t seem to bad, but not as nice as Nvidias. I guess the main thing on my mind is what higher end 3d card could you use if you dont want to support Nvidia and Ati?
