Gonna Need a bigger card
Well I am still loving the dual head display setup, but I have noticed a little taxing of the video card when I use a nice full high res background across the whole thing. It is prob a matter of my old PNY Geforce FX5200 128M PCI card not having enough jam for the two displays at 1280×1024 with all the trans eterms and stuff going on. In any case it is still very usable and I dont notice any issues when I play Quake III since it is just running on the one head. But on the list of things to get is going to be a video card, and it also seems a new 80gig IDE drive for the raid in my workstation (might just wait and get two 80gig sata down the road).

Hmm, I would think that video card would have the jam for a dual display no problem. I’m running a geforce4 card here (nVidia Corporation NV25 [GeForce4 Ti 4200] (rev a3)) without any problems. Big 3D screensavers work well and are very fast. How much ram do you have in your desktop? It could be attributed to that as you’ll end up using alot more ram displaying all those eterms and whatnot on such a large desktop. I’m running with 1 gig here at work, and it’s pretty much all in use.
Or maybe the pci bus is whats slowing you down…

I have 1gig of ram and it seems fine for most things i just notice it is not as quick with the windows as it was with my old geforce 4 64Mb something or other card that was agp with one head.
