I have been getting something that seems to look to me like White Hair Algae. Very little on google has turned up anything to get rid of this or what it could be from (also have a fair amount of nice dark green algae). So off to the fish store to try and find something. I was going to get more Otocinclus since the one I had could not seem to keep up with the work in the ~30gal tank. The fish shop only had one that was not looking so well, so I started to think maybe a baby Pleco for the time being. After a little thought I went for more Amano Shrimp. I use to have a few but all but the one did the march of death out of the tank. Since then I have filled in the top more and there is very little chance of escape for them. Being more than Ghost Shrimp at a cost of about $3.50 each i decided to get 4 to add to my one. Shorlty after adding them they went right to work. The interesting thing is the one I had from before that never seemed to come out from under his log was out with them cleaning. The Mollie that didnt seem to do a damn thing started to eat everything it could. The whole tank was full of activity once again cleaning and eatting up nasty stuff. My best guess is that everyone just felt there is so much I dont need to rush, or something along those lines and with the new Amano Shrimp everyone is in a panic to get all they can?
