Grunge lives on
Been listen to Mudhoney’s new album today (Under A Billion Suns). Its interesting because it reminds me of the whole grunge scene mixed with some newer stuff and the Doors oddly enough. Grunge is one of those scenes that ended way to soon, but really it didnt end just everyone else moved on to other stuff. Which in a way is good since most of the hype was just that. Most of the bands that didn’t get super stardom from the whole explosion seemed to have kept more to there roots than the more popular bands did.
One thing on this album that I can’t say I was expecting is the woodwind section at the end. It wasnt all that bad but didn’t really seem to fit with the rest of the album. Anyway if you are looking for a new band to check out or just looking for a old band to go back to you might want to give Mudhoney a try.
