The Year of Fighting Games

I have been looking through a old Video Game Magazine from 1994 and just noticed that almost every second page is about a fighting game. It covers Clay Fighters, Motal Kombat, Street Fighter II, and has them for almost every system. I took me off gaurd because I didn’t remeber them all coming out that close together. A quick look online showed me that Street Fighter II came out in 1991, Mortal Kombat came out in 1992, and Clay Fighter came out in 1993. It i shocking to think games use to stick around that long… Street Fighter II truly set one huge trend. Now video game mags seem to only have what is coming soon or what just came out for the most part. The video game industry is truly growing larger than itself.

Damn Xbox. This is the first game for the xbox360 I would like to play, but they sold out to the MS so I wont. I can understand Nintendo making games for their systems and keeping them only on that, but when you pay 3rd parties to do it that is just wrong. Mind you Sony is also know for this and can’t be left out of the blame.
