Computer Change Is A Foot

This weekend has been packed full of redoing the home network. I have been living off the laptop for the past few weeks and have not even had the server or main workstation on. I ended up doing a trade with eccentric, my lian-li case for a Sonata case with some of the AcoustiPack for it. I am not sure if it is actually that stuff, but it looks pretty close to that on the side panel. This this has cut down on a fair amount of the noise and I might end up getting some quieter options for my video card. I would like to get something else for my cpu too, but the mainboard does not have the mounting holes that most of these options require.. It might just have to wait till my next mainboard upgrade.

I also picked up a Acer 19″ wide screen LCD to replace the dual head 17″ CRT setup I was using. It has some less desktop realestate but cleans up the desk and for the summer will help keep the living room below boiling point with all the heat the CRTs and TV pump into the room.

Anyway I am pretty happy with the setup so far.. Mind you I had some major issues with harddrives dying during the install.. I have also not setup the workstation with a mirror for the first time in a while. It should actually speed things up a little, but I did like the extra protection before.

And now for the screen shot.. This should keep you warm on those winter nights. :)

Ya, thats the AcoutiPack stuff. I had ordered just a bunch of the sheets thought and not the sonata pack specifically since at the time they didn’t have the pack… It helps quite a bit I found, and it would probably be super sweet with the full pack. I used a whole bunch on my antec aria case and it’s quiet enough that you can never tell if it’s on or off (along with some quiet fans and whatnot).

    Also, nice wallpaper :)
