Ubuntu Forum Gpilot Error Treo 755p

A little while back I ended up getting my Treo 755p. It has been working great and I have been keeping all my evolution info sync’ed with it.

I did how ever run into a issue a week or so back that it would not sync anymore with gpilot. The actual error I was “gpilotd-WARNING **: An error occurred while getting the PDA’s system data”. A quick look around on the internet turned up a post at the ubuntu forms.

After reading the post, the solution to the Treo not syncing was the backup your files rest the Treo to facotry default.. This seemed like a major pain and I just pulled the battery out of the palm for a second to hard reboot it. After that I was able to sync and didn’t have to blow away the Treo to factory default. I am assuming one of the database files was stuck open on the Treo.

I wanted to actually update the forum posting so people don’t just take what it says as the only solutions, but ubuntu locks the thread after they feel a solution has been made.

pan wont load: Error

Posted in Computers on December 11th, 2008 by hurt – Be the first to comment

After installing the latest kernel image for ubuntu on my laptop I had to close down pan (Newsgroup Reader) and reboot. Pan would not stop running and I eventually had to kill the process. After rebooting the laptop I tried to start up pan2, but would only get the error message

“pan: fptools.c:458: _FP_fgets: Assertion `*buf’ failed. Aborted (core dumped)”

This was telling me that my current task list of downloads was corrupt. removing the task file

“~/.pan2/tasks.nzb”

resolved the issue but sadly all my pending downloads where lost.
