Upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04

Upgraded my laptop to the latest version of Ubuntu (9.04). Everything seems to be running pretty nice and stable for me. Not any huge changes in my day to day usage of apps, but the new gnome does seem a little quicker.

Busy Week So Far

The holiday weekend went pretty well. I ended up having a great brunch with my family in a nice private room that Erika booked for us a local restaurant. Then in the evening her family (a much larger group) came to the house for dinner. I mostly stuck to myself in the whole group until after dinner we broke out the Rockband and I felt more in my element.

On the Saturday we watched as two workers removed the Blue Spruce tree on the front yard, we did want there anymore. It was pretty impressive. You can check out some shot in my flickr set for it. The it was off to the grocery store with my nanna, as per our normal Saturday routine.

Erika and I plan on going out for drinks tonight with Scott at the Loyal Oarsman. I also have a fair bit of work ahead of me in the after hours. Guitar lessons start this weekend, and Erika and I plan to attend the SWITCH seminars that are going on locally this week and next.

Other than that I have two final quotes for getting the basement finally finished up and done, which I will prob call about setting up the time this week. Hopefully they can start sooner rather than later and get moving on that project.
