For my Birthday Erika ended up getting me tickets to the NiN concert in Ottawa, with a great room at the Westin Hotel.
The show and the room where great and I could not have been more happy with my Bday gift.
The NiN show was amazing. They have really stepped up the production of the show. Its some where between a classic NiN show and a theatrical play.
you can check out some of the pics I took on my flickr account here. I have also included a clip that I took with my Sony Cybershot. I was actually pretty impressed with the quality of the images and the video.
For some great info on the technology and screens in the show check out this article on Wired
I dont think I have ever posted the lyrics to the song that made me pick my nick.. Before hurt I use to use Beelzebub (that was way back before this fancy internet thing)…
Nine Inch Nails
HurtI hurt myself today
to see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
the only thing that’s real
the needle tears a hole
the old familiar sting
try to kill it all away
but I remember everythingwhat have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
you could have it all
my empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurtI wear this crown of shit
upon my liar’s chair
full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
beneath the stains of time
the feeling disappear
you are someone else
I am still right herewhat have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the endyou could have it all
my empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
if I could start again
a million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way
The Nine Inch Nails Concert in Toronto last night was great! Death from above 1979 put on a great opening show (But it was a little short). I relized that the reason I dont listen to Queens of the Stone Age much at all is because I dont like them. Nine Inch Nails put on a amazing show with huge sound and great effects. It had amazing lights, a huge projector on a screen for a few songs much like the hurt video. I really like how Nin dosnt just play current songs, but jumps on all albums and not released on album stuff.
Every wish you could be in two places at ones.. The same night I goto see NIN in Toronto, the Misfits will be playing a show in Toronoto.
